OK. So, if you haven’t heard by now…Terra Waconia is starting a food truck!
Here’s the story. After months of searching for a new home in the Southwest Metro we came to the realization that we were not going to find a suitable existing building. We have begun talks with multiple developers on what exactly Terra “Next” will look like and where exactly it will be. While we are working that out…and because building a new restaurant from the ground up seems boring, we bring you:
A brand so hot we had to use a fire truck
“Gus” the bus is a former Mobile Command Vehicle for the City of Chanhassen’s Fire Department that we met when fate intervened. On our way to purchase another truck, we received an excited call “you gotta come see this truck!”. We went to look and rule out this “beast”, but instead it was love at first strobe light. The match was perfect.
Big bold beautiful Gus was named after William Augustus “Gus” Brown (Craig’s grandfather). Gus Brown was a motorcycle cop in the 40’s and 50’s and then became a fireman and eventually the chief. Chief Brown loved food, friends and community. He died a happy man on the 18th green playing golf with friends. We are proud to remember his, as well as countless others’ contributions and while our truck will remain fun and light-hearted, we are serious about honoring the shared ideals of service, family and community gatherings.
